Marine biologist / ichthyologist. Graduated with honours from the Department of Biology of the University of Athens (1984) and with an M.Sc. in fish-farming and fisheries management from the Institute of Aquaculture of the University of Stirling, Scotland (1986).

Researcher in the fisheries sector, in environmental studies and in the fish-farming industry since 1987 and founder of fish-farming units on Symi, Rhodes and Leros islands. Director and shareholder in the fish farming company “NIMOS S.A.”; professional diver; scuba diving instructor for ANDI, SSI, and founder of the “Blutopia Marine Park” on Rhodes as well as the innovative agrotourism enterprise “Blunatura”.
